Virginia’s experience with forests inspires her to follow her passion to share her gained knowledge with people of all ages. Focusing on the importance of learning and connecting to the lands we are all part of, she developed a program called Nature Connects and Forest Education, acknowledging she is learning and teaching on unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people. Over the past 16 years she has presented to well over 2500 people at community events, schools, public speaking, conferences, summer camps and guided forest walks. She has received awards for her contributions to forest education across Ontario, and has provided sixteen years of volunteer service in her community, based on her passion for connecting with people, learning, forests, stewardship, wildlife values and culture based education. Working along side members of Kijicho Manito Madaouskarini (KMM) in Bancroft, ON, Virginia has been part of projects involving community and culture based education, while continuing her education in truth and reconciliation.
